Chase MP Calls For Attention to Chase Line in
Regional Rail Strategy |
|
Tony Wright MP has
responded to a consultation on services across the West Midlands by the
Strategic Rail Authority, highlighting the need to upgrade and improve the Chase
Line. The MP, who has been
campaigning for a number of years on improvements to the Chase Line rail
service, has called for the Strategic Rail Authority to make “a real
commitment to an efficient network of suburban rail services in the West
Midlands, including south Staffordshire where this is “particularly
crucial…where demand and population growth make an efficient rail service to
the conurbation indispensable”. Tony Wright said: “The Chase Line is vital for this area but at
present the levels of service are simply unacceptable. I wanted to make sure that this local line moves up the national agenda and to highlight its current successes, and failings.” |
